I really appreciate everything Jack and his team have done.

The service he gave me was always professional with great attention to detail but at all times he was friendly and approachable.

I very much valued the pride he and his team took in their work and the way he communicated with me so effectively at all times. Everything is top quality throughout.

I was very nervous undertaking such a large project but I couldn't have wished for anyone better to give me the confidence and reassurance I needed as we went through the process.

I am delighted with the end result; it has completely changed how I live and I would have no hesitation in recommending Jack to others.

We cannot praise Jack and his team highly enough. He kept us fully informed every step of the way throughout the build and any problem encountered was talked through and overcome. The quality of workmanship throughout from Jack and his sub-contractors was first class and from day 1 we were confident that the extension would be built to a very high standard.

Jack Colbert and his team performed faultlessly throughout. They turned up every day on time, worked like trojans and produced work of a very high standard. Jack Colbert’s management of the build and scheduling of the sub-contractors was masterful. His communication with ourselves was an object lesson in how these things should be done and we were consulted and advised throughout the build, ending with an extension whose interior is seamlessly integrated with the rest of the house. It hardly needs saying how pleased we are with the end result.

We recently had a single storey extension (added one bigger kitchen and bedroom) to our bungalow. Jack and his team were absolutely brilliant, extremely professional, knowledgeable and most importantly they did a fabulous job with knock down and extension.

Would recommend to anyone. And will certainly use them again.

Right from quote to acceptance to completion we were very happy with Jack and his teams attitude and expertise. Always happy to answer questions, turned up when expected and the site was left tidy at the end of each day.

The existing extension was very poorly built but now that the team from JC General Builders has finished rebuilding it from the foundations to the roof we have an extension to be proud of.

The work took place in a very wet and cold part of the year but Jack always let us know in advance if this was going to delay work. He and his colleague were punctual, courteous and tidied up after themselves; no mean feat considering the amoubt of mud and snow about!

They checked with us on our preferences as they worked which I really appreciated as I felt that I ended up with exactly what I wanted. 

They have a great work ethic  and spent a lot of time checking levels and heights as they worked. This was particularly important as our garden has a slight slope and was quite awkward to sort out. What a fabulous job we ended up with. We were very pleased and I would be happy to recommend JC Builders on all counts. I shall certainly be using them again.

Jack is a personable young man who seems keen to please.

On our full refurbishment, Jack used subcontractors for most of the work, who he scheduled well. However he often left them in the day and went to other work. He either didn’t tell them our specifications or he didn't check, so many things weren't completed as we wanted. We weren’t living on site so couldn’t check ourselves and relied on Jack.

When he arranged corrective work it was individually, at short notice and with long gaps between. Of the 40 plus problems that we raised with Jack, only 13 have been corrected, 10 never can be and the rest is outstanding.

On the face of it, the overall job looks good but lacks the detail.

As this platform is used for customers to express their views I appreciate your comments, however as this platform is also used to promote my business it is important for me to address some of the points raised.

I am sorry to hear that you felt I didn't communicate with my sub contractors, this was definitely not the case. I use the same people on all of my projects as I like to keep my team small so everyone gets on well and knows each others work. I was onsite daily and we all worked extremely well together and all timescales were kept on track.

Throughout the course of the project, both you and your husband made several visits to the house each week and we had several meetings, giving many opportunities to raise any issues you may have had. There were changes during the project, which is normal with any job of this scale, and these were made once I had your approval. However, it was not until the build was complete that the majority of changes / issues were raised, with the payment for the final invoice being withheld. In order to maintain customer satisfaction, we returned on several ocassions, with decisions being changed and work being carried out twice. In the end, we felt that the situation had become untenable and therefore felt I had no option but to waive the final invoice which was a big hit to me as a small business.

I always taken pride in my work, with customer satisfaction being parmount to me and my business - I therefore feel that the review is a not a fair account of this particular project. 

Good communication, job went exactly as discribed. Used previously for small job, extremely good work. Tidy, professional and a very high standard of finish. Would highly recommend.

Completed in a timely manner. Started on date agreed and work completed to a high level.
