Adrian Matthews of Pristine Gutters
When you were a child, what did you aspire to be?
As a child I think the dream was a pilot, but that was a long time ago.
Did you enjoy school?
Yes, especially the hours 9am - 3.15pm
What motivated you to learn your trade?
The guttering trade doesn’t have the best reputation and we wanted to create a company people could rely on.
What motivated you to start your own business?
I wanted to be in control of my own destiny. Before I was working in London doing long hours working for someone else.
Do you wish you had started your business earlier?
Nope, I believe everything in life happens for a reason and you should never look back and have regrets.
What are the rewards of being your ‘own Boss’?
Being outside everyday is fantastic (except when it’s below zero). It definitely beats sitting behind a desk staring at a screen all day.
How did you support yourself financially to start your own business?
Well I smashed the piggy bank with a hammer and that was that.
What made you decide to join Safe Local Trades?
As a business we wanted a local, reliable place where we could direct customers to leave reviews, and Safe Local Trades has an incredible reputation amongst the community. It works hard to combat scammers, rogue trades and people trying to take advantage of others. We support these values strongly.
How has Safe Local Trades worked for your Business?
Being a member of Safe Local Trades has allowed new customers to read our reviews, visit our website and get in touch with us. It has allowed us to grow and if anyone has never heard of Safe Local Trades we always direct them to the one stop shop for all your local trade needs.
What are the incentives that keep you with Safe Local Trades?
Well for one it’s a local company not a national one. It’s easy for customers to leave reviews, and it also has a fantastic community amongst the members.
