Aveland Pest Solutions - Raising the Bar with CEPA Certification

The face of pest control is changing and Safe Local Trades member Aveland Pest Solutions Ltd is meeting the challenge head on. In March 2015 a European standard for pest control was launched in Brussels. CEN EN16636 has been rolling out across the UK with 54 companies now certified to the Confederation of European Pest Management Associations (CEPA) standard and Aveland Pest Solutions are proud to be one of only two companies in Lincolnshire to achieve this level of professionalism.

To attain the standard, the company had to pass a stringent audit carried out by Trade Association Services who work with Bureau Veritas to deliver UK CEPA Certification. This defines quality and best practice and acts as an assurance that member companies are fully qualified to deal with all pest species and are experts on integrated pest management including health and safety, the use of chemicals and environmental factors.

Managing director, Chris South says “As a small business you never really know if you are doing everything right so at the audit wash-up in June we were told that our company had no non-compliances and had surpassed the standard required for CEPA certification, that was a real confidence boost for the business.” Notwithstanding Brexit the CEPA standard will stay with us to promote professional pest control services.
