Neil came out on 29 November 2024 and did a preliminary check of my roof to check where water was leaking into bedroom bay window ceiling, he confirmed that there were at least 6 cracked tiles that needed replacing. 

Although work could not be carried out for a few weeks, Emma was brilliant with her communication and kept me updated during this time. 

Once Neil and Emma were available to carry out the work at beginning of February 2025, they arrived on time, the work was carried out professionally and was explained to me fully. Neil had to eventually replace 11 cracked and worn tiles - property is a 1950's property so roofing tiles are quite thin and worn. Neil and Emma cleaned up when they were finished  and I  would not hesitate to use them again.

To my horror, I found a puddle and damp timbers in our loft. Neil came out the day after I contacted him and, having looked in the loft, he then climbed onto the roof (explaining using photos he'd taken of the failling flashing) he was able to reassure me that it should be quite straightforward to fix.

A quote for the work was sent promptly. He and Emma came back at their earliest convenience and made the necessary repairs, as well as installing ventilation tiles to assist with air circulation in the loft. Neil took further photos during the job to illustrate what had been done.

We were very happy with Neil and Emma's work, and would recommend them to others.

Following a recent storm, we had a small leak coming through an external wall into our kids playroom which appeared to be finding its way through some trimming/flashing installed just 8 months ago by another company. 

Naturally, I initially contacted the original company who carried out the work (Williams & Henry Property Maintenance Ltd) to advise them of the leak and was told they would be out two days later to look at the issue but they never arrived and didn't even contact me to rearrange. Sadly, this was about the 5th time I had been let down on promised visits due to other potential problems I had raised following the install without any courtesy call or apology so it was evident that I was wasting my time with this company and I would therefore have to incur the cost of getting the leak repaired myself by getting another roofer in.

I had previously been made aware of Safe Local Trades via another trader, who I also needed to call in after Williams and Henry had damaged part of our corner fascia and replaced it with some very cheap bit of plastic that didn't stay up long, and so I decided to check the website out and this was when I came across N S Rickett Roofing Ltd for the first time. I was very impressed by the reviews left for Neil and Emma and as they were also pretty local to me I decided to contact them to quote me for the repair.

After popping over to assess the issue and providing me with a quote to replace the trims, whilst it may not have been the cheapest quote I'd have likely got, I was also very impressed in the way Neil and Emma conducted themselves and it's not every day you come across a husband and wife team so I thought 'let's give 'em a go'! Well sometimes cheap quotes are cheaper for a reason as the quality of the work carried out by Neil and Emma really was on another level, so much so that I will definitely be getting them in again, when funds allow, to replace some of the other trims. They are a genuinely lovely couple who clearly put the customer first and have their very best interests at heart. 

So for anyone who's managed to stay awake and read this extremely longwinded review, please please do consider Neil and Emma should you require any roofing work done as I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Neil and Emma arrived on time and worked hard for 2 days in the blistering heat, they are lovely people. They are both 100% professional and trustworthy. Invoice received was as quoted.

Neil and Emma arrived on time with all the required equipment. Both worked together as a team in a professional manner. Neil explained in detail what needed to be done and how, in an easy way for me to understand. I was ill at the time and had to leave them to get on with the job. When I was able to check out their work I was very impressed, all the the site was clean and tidy. Really did a good, neat job.

This is a really top quality roofing company, Neil and Emma are such nice people to deal with. 

I am so pleased with the work they did that I've already booked them to carry out more roofing repairs for me.

Perfect job carried out to identify and repair a roof leak to a very high standard. Neil went out of his way to show/explain the issue using photos as the job progressed. Very professional, and both Neil and his partner Emma are such nice people to deal with from start to finish.

Contacted these for a quote for roof repair.  Replied promptly but said they were really busy and could not take anymore work on.

Started on the agreed date, very difficult when your dealing with our weather. Explained everything clearly and finished within a few days.
