After experiencing leaking from my dormer window lead flashing for over a year, Neil’s excellent assessment of the causes, and subsequent repairs to the dormer roof and the flashing replacement have completely solved our problems with leaking kitchen ceilings.
Many thanks Neil. You delivered everything that you promised.

Assessment of roof following a near-miss with rogue traders.
Comments:
A few weeks ago, when we had the storms, I had a knock on the door from a roofer who told me that if I didn't get my roof fixed, that with the next storm, all the tiles would come off as they were in such a bad state. He said that the work needed to be done urgently and they were available. As a woman of nearly 80 and living on my own, I was naturally really worried and allowed him to put the ladder up to have a look. He quoted £3,500 and demanded a £500 deposit in cash. I told him that I didn't have that amount of money on me so he returned the next day to pick it up and then said that the full cost was £5,000 as they had discovered more problems.
I felt extremely uneasy with this and I was advised by a friend to call the police, which I did and they were absolutely marvellous. I told them when the roofer was due to come back and they arrived whilst he and some others he brought along were there - the police told them to go and not to come back. I foolishly lost £500 through intimidation and worry, but it could have been a lot worse.
Whilst still worried that there were problems with the roof, I rang and spoke at length to Eileen at Safe Local Trades and she put me in touch with Neil Rickett of NS Rickett Roofing, which I will be forever grateful for.
Neil arrived today to carry out a full assessment of the roof. I could not have asked for a nicer man. I knew immediately that I could trust him and he was so charming, honest and such a delight. The outcome of the assessment is that there are three cracked tiles that could do with replacing and a small bit of cementing. Other than that, the roof is perfectly sound. This was such a relief and so reassuring after the experience above. I have certainly learnt my lesson.
I cannot recommend Neil highly enough and am so grateful to Eileen for putting me in touch with him. I will always ensure that Safe Local Trades is my first port of call for any future jobs I require.
Summary:
We had some cracked tiles on our extension roof.
Comments:
Neil went to a lot of trouble to source reclaimed tiles to match our current roof tiles. He did a fabulous job and we are so grateful to put this worry behind us.
Neil is a delight to do business with. Thank you so much.
Summary:
Completely re-tile, re-batten and fit new membrane to the roof and porch, re-build valley troughs and fit flashing plus repoint chimneys.
Comments:
After shopping around I decided to use Neil as he was the only person that did not assess the work needed from the the front garden, this plus previous feedback given.
A date was agreed for work to begin and that is when it began with scaffolding in place and skips at the ready.
Every morning Neil arrived on time and and ran me through each days schedule.
Neil proved to be a conscientious, knowledgable and hard working professional with an eye for the smallest detail and finished the work exactly when he said he would and that work was of an excellent standard.
If you want a reliable and honest roofer I would "double click" the one you are on now.

Repair of leak from chimney.
Comments:
We had a leak from our chimney coming through to landing. Neil arrived to quote for the job as agreed. We had had 3 other roofers already to quote but Neil was the only one who actually went up on to the roof to have a look. He clearly explained what need to me done to resolve the issue, no "flannel." He provided us with a quote on the day.
Very genuine and honest person. 100% trustworthy. Neil replaced concrete and lead flashing around whole chimney breast. Very please and reassured. No concerns at all. He is now our "go to" roofer.
Summary:
Repaired a slipped roof tile and loose guttering.

I phoned Neil to ask for help after noticing wind damage to my house roof. Neil arrived the following morning (amazing service!). He was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable and gave me confidence in his abilities, exactly what you want in a tradesperson. He repaired the damage quickly and explained what he had done, and was a tidy worker.
I have no hesitation in highly recommending NS Rickett Roofing.

Leaking roof repair.
Comments:
I had a roof leak and contacted Neil through the Safe Local Trades website. Although he could not immediately respond to the work request, due to some personal circumstances, he contacted me at the earliest he could and visited the house after juggling a few jobs he already had. Following the roof survey, he discussed what could be done to rectify the issue, and he fixed the problem at the same time.
The work was neat and tidy, and Neil is a gentleman; it was nice to deal with him. As a goodwill gesture he did not charge me anything for the work he did today.
With water and dampness appearing in my front two bedrooms, I knew that water was getting in somewhere. Upon arrival, Neil went up on his ladder and took photos of the state of the roof to show me. The batton had completely rotted and there was a line of 6 to 8 tiles that needed replacing. As an elderly woman, I hadn't been in the loft for many years so over several years, the water had been coming in and manifested itself in the upstairs bedrooms.
Neil is an absolutely charming man who did such an excellent job. Very pleasant, very polite and his wife Emma was equally lovely.
I am over the moon knowing that the roof is now secure and there will be no further leaks.
A huge thank you to Neil and Emma for providing such a fantastic service.
Thank you to Safe Local Trades for finding this wonderful roofing firm for me.
